Yilport Oslo welcomes first call of Hapag-Lloyd’s feeder service
Yilport Holding's newest terminal Yilport Oslo has received a new service from Hapag-Lloyd. This new service represents the enhancement of an existing service and Hapag-Lloyd will receive the benefit of the strong productivity gains in the port.
This new service to Oslo has added to the momentum the port is gaining and this is just the start! It is expected that more liner services will choose Oslo in the very near future to take advantage of the significant investment and continued expansion of the terminal. Yilport Oslo has receive six new RTGs to the container yard since its opening on February 1st and there are new quay cranes on the way. The new equipment is supported with cutting-edge technologies to manage cargo flows with a new, automated gate solution due by year's end.
The first Hapag-Lloyd vessel for the Baltic Sea Express (BAX) service arrived and worked on June 4 and Yilport is happy to report that it provided for safe and efficient cargo operations to everyone's satisfaction. Oslo's capacity to handle more and more volumes has continued to improve and in the near future it is expected to handle on-dock CFS and to provide many other services. Also, as a part of the terminal development project, Yilport Oslo has new reefer stations serviced by the RTGs which will further improve the trucker turn times.
Great to see the improvements and we are all excited about the bright future for this port!
