YILPORT Liscont Welcomes ‘Lady Jane’
YILPORT Liscont played an important role in marking the return of OOCL (Orient Overseas Container Line) on the 12th of January at Porto de Lisboa
The container vessel Lady Jane, a 294.5-meter-long, with a capacity of 5,000 TEUs, initiates the EEX-Europe East Coast South America Express service.
The vessel berthed at the YILPORT Liscont before its voyage to Algeciras and subsequently to the port of Santos, Brazil. Before Lisbon, the vessel visited the ports of Hamburg and Antwerp, solidifying the importance of this route in the global shipping network.
The cargo the YILPORT Liscont handles in collaboration with Brazil amounts to approximately 1.5 million tons. Notable export products include olive oil, wine, fruit, and preserves.
This significant event is part of a new service to South America, launched in the last quarter of 2023, and is a collaborative effort between OOCL, COSCO SHIPPING Lines and Ocean Network Express. The strategic connection established by this service states the YILPORT Liscont standing as an export platform for national companies and other European markets. The availability of feeder services enhances the advantages offered by this route in connecting with South America.
